Zine-o-mania is set

I'm ecstatic. On the train ride over here from work, I was thinking all about the zine and what would come of it. So far, it seemed as if just myself, Kristen and Romi were willing contributors. Then, the stacker 2 pills started to kick in and with them, high hopes. Sure enough, I got home and 3 talented people with cool diaries asked to help. So happy right now.

I think this will be my last official "ryan79" entry before the first issue of the zine. So, let me fill you in on the last weeks happenings.

I went on a non-date date (showing a friend of the family around town)and saw "Cabaret" on Broadway. During the pivotal scene in which emcee reveals a mandated Jewish star affixed to his shirt, symbolic of the good times being over in Germany, the out of towner turns and asks me, "Is that because they made him sheriff?" Whoa! And she said it real loud too, so like half the section turned around and looked. It was far worse then a cell phone going off in the theater. Overall, the non-date date wasn't so bad, except for going to a bar later and having this girl tell me, "well in mississippi, we call this drink a mississippi _______(insert drink name here)" All of this seemed to annoy the bartender, though I can't blame him. Part of me wanted to let her know that in New York, we KNOW the subtle difference bteween a persecuted jew and a member of a law enforcement outfit. But do you think that would've helped?

Last nite, I found my super 8 film from film class. I have yet to convert it to VHS format. It's a real work of art. In it, a man becomes pissed at his wife for not makig him breakfast. He leaves in a huff. The wife gets murdered by a burglar. The man comes home and finds her dead. He cries, and then goes into her pockets and gets some money and goes and buys a twinkie. End of tale. The whole production was hampered by my shitty directing skills and, chiefly, the ACTUAL stabbing of the lead actress by the guy who played the robber. I should get this thing converted and put it up. Well, if anyone who has expressed interest in writing can submit a piece, be it a review, criticism, creative story, half-truth, etc., can get it to me, e-mail me. Much thanks!!!
